	Wind Power for Electrification In cooperation with IPS, IHFD has the ability to design and install wind power systems of various sizes in a grid or off grid environment. By utilizing IPS’s guy-less wind towers, IHFD is able to ensure smooth, low cost and risk free installation and maintenance of wind power system. The guy-less wind tower enables one person to lower the blades and turbine to the ground level to perform necessary maintenance work, before re-erecting it for normal use. On behalf of the US government, IHFD is presently installing wind power systems for the Afghan National Army to power its guard shacks. Other similar applications are ongoing.


	Wind Power for Water Pumping Through its joint venture partner, QRTDW, IHFD has the capability to manufacture wind systems for pumping water for drinking or irrigation purposes. QRTDW is utilizing an exclusive license from Neil Consulting Engineers of the United Kingdom to manufacture wind pumps. So far numerous such systems have been manufactured and installed in various parts of Afghanistan, which have helped in providing drinking water for the population as well as water for livestock and irrigation purposes. Other projects are in the pipeline, which will further enhance the use of this technology in the region.
